ROCHUT NUMERO QUINCE (Rochut #15)

This nine-part arrangement of perhaps the world's most famous trombone etude, known simply as "Rochut No. 15," was commissed by The University of Texas at Austin Trombone Choir, directed by Nathaniel Brickens. It is set to a hot "Latin-salsa" style, thus the name "Rochut Numero Quince." The February 11, 2006 world premier featured the amazing Trombones de Costa Rica performing the four "solo" parts, while the impressive 25-member UT choir provided the 5-part accompaniment. An opportunity is provided for some improvised solos. Total duration: 5 to 8+ minutes, depending on the number and length of the solos.
